The morning after Chervonia’s general election has brought only confusion and alarm, with the integrity of the entire process now severely compromised. The Central Election Commission (CEC) officially admitted that an “IT incident”—unauthorized access to their system—led to the premature posting of false results, which had shown President Parenko winning by a huge margin. Both the incumbent’s camp and challenger Selina Orelova’s team are in uproar, accusing the other side of sabotaging the vote.
The chaos intensified as the vote counting was halted nationwide due to simultaneous, fake bomb threats targeting hundreds of polling stations. This, combined with a crippling DDoS attack on government networks and contradictory exit poll data, has led to a political showdown. President Parenko’s team has filed an emergency motion with the Supreme Court to annul the entire election, citing the unprecedented level of digital and physical sabotage.
In response, Orelova’s supporters are pouring into the streets, demanding that the CEC confirm her apparent lead and calling on citizens to “Defend Your Vote.” The Supreme Court, acknowledging the crisis, has agreed to take the case immediately, requesting a full investigation into the foreign-linked deepfakes and sabotage. With the key suspect, Dorian Luthar, now confirmed to have fled the country, Chervonia remains deeply divided, awaiting a court ruling that will determine the fate of its democracy.
